EQA closes the 2010 year with a growing momentum that will continue into the New Year to support EQA’s expansion and reputation around the world.
BCCIE’s EQA Manager, along with representatives from sixteen BC Post-Secondary institutions attended the 2010 Maple Leaf Education System (MLES) Fairs held in China in November. Representing BCCIE, the EQA Manager gave presentations on the BC Education System and BC’s EQA Designation at Embassy meetings and educational Fairs in 6 cities.

With one year under its belt, the EQA Designation forges ahead in establishing a distinctive presence in Education Quality Assurance for BC within the international education market. Launched last year on November 17, 2009, EQA remains the first and only provincial quality assurance brand in the Canadian post-secondary education landscape.

The start of the autumn season has ushered in a busy schedule of provincial outreach efforts by EQA staff.

Activities have included EQA staff offering a series of EQA Information Sessions in Vancouver and Victoria, presenting at the 2010 BCCCA Conference and hosting the inaugural EQA Webinar earlier this month. In addition to these sector-wide events, our staff has been visiting individual institutions to speak directly with school staff about the EQA and the institutional advantages of both the EQA Designation and BCCIE’s regional and international activities.

EQA EXPANSION GIVES STUDENTS MORE OPTIONS

VICTORIA – Local and international ESL students will have more EQA-designated schools to choose from – ensuring they’ve made secure educational choices – through an agreement between the Province and Languages Canada, announced Minister of Advanced Education and Labour Market Development Moira Stilwell.
